Day 1: Marrakech
Welcome to Morocco! Be sure to arrive in time for your pre-departure meeting at 6:00pm. Your first night will be spent at our pre-expedition hotel in the centre of town. Dinner and overnight - Marrakech
Day 2: Marrakech - Telouat - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate 220 Km Total 32 km off – road:
After the morning breakfast, reception of your car keys at the hotel desk. Departure to Ouarzazate trues the Tichka pass, crossing the high Atlas at 2260 meters. All along the road you will discover the beautiful Berbers village. Few kilometers after the Tichka you will leave the main road for the Telouet track; the Telouet Kasbah is the highest Kasbahs in Morocco and used to be the house of the Glaoui manager of the south Morocco in the 1930 years. The track will then go down up to Ait Ben Haddou, this fortified village is a site classed by UNESCO. This village has been filmed on many movies such as Lawrence d 'Arabia, Nil Diamante, Cleopatra.
Few kilometers more and you will arrive at Ouarzazate, the Morocco city of movies.
Day 3 Ouarzazate - Tineghir 240 Km: Atlas tracks, roses valley, canyon Dadés and Todra:
After the morning breakfast, departure around height, reception of your Quads. Direction to Skoura where the mountain track is starting. This track cross some isolated Berber villages and turn around the MGoun mountain 4100 m to arrive in the Roses Valley and then into the Dades Canyon. From Boumalne road up to Tinerghir and visit of the Todra canyon.
Logging and dinner in Tinerghir hotel Amazigh or equivalent.
Day 4-5 Tineghir - Alnif - Rissani - Merzouga dunes .215Kms:
After the morning breakfast, departure to Alnif, beautiful tracks between the two mountains the Djbel Sahro and the Djbel Ougnat. Alnif is worldwide knows as the place for fossils. Lunch in Alnif and then track and road to Rissani, Rissani capital of Tafilalet and place where is born the actual royal dynasty. From Rissani track to the erg Chebbi to reach Merzouga.
First night of your Morocco Camel Adventure is spent under 1000 and 1 stars by a spring in this area.
MERZOUGA SAND DUNES:
You head out towards the sand dunes. Night is spent at Tisserdimine Oasis. Remember the camels walk slower in the sand dunes than on the hard dirt!
MERZOUGA SAND DUNES:
In the sand dunes, you look for nomads. Perhaps you share a meal with them or share their tents. Night is spent deeper in the Morocco sand dunes.
MERZOUGA SAND DUNES:
You travel south and spend the night in an oasis in the sand dunes. The camels traverse the dunes like people ski when going down hill.
MERZOUGA SAND DUNES:
You pass near Merzouga to see the lake that is known to have flamingos. This is again black desert and hard piste. You check out the mines where lead crystals (not Waterford) lie on the ground but these lead mines are no longer functional.
Day 6: MERZOUGA to OUARZAZATE
In the morning, visit the village and oasis of Merzouga and meet some family members as you venture back into civilization. Perhaps have lunch with them before you leave after visiting the Berber cooperative where the local Berber women bring their woven rugs. You begin your travel back towards Marrakech, Morocco stopping at a nice 3* hotel in Ouarzazate. Dinner and Breakfast.
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Marrakesh 200 Km Total
After the breakfast departure for the visit of the town of Ouarzazate: the Kasbah of Taourirt; cinema studio; then drive to Marrakech by the Tizi N-Tichka pass.
Sight Seeing of Marrakech city : A day to discover the city where the Berber and Arabian Nights fantasy is based on reality – magical Marrakech. While your half day tour takes in sights such as the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Menara Gardens, souks and the medina, you will be blown away by what you see on the famous square of Jamaa El Fna, especially at night. While impeccably dressed chefs grill sausages and kebabs under the stars, musicians, snake charmers, monkey handlers, merchants, medicine men, preachers, storytellers, magicians, dancers and acrobats all perform in a wonderful blaze of humanity. Order a drink from a balcony seat in one of the square’s upstairs cafés, sit back and be amazed.
DAY 8: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight home.
